Hannah, Founder of The New Craft House, a sewing workshop studio and designer deadstock fabric shop:

“Holly was such a brilliant help in working through our B Corp accreditation. She broke everything down into manageable steps, has a great system for organising tasks and evidence, and pointed us in the direction of loads of helpful resources. The accreditation felt quite intimidating for a small business like ours, but Holly made it really manageable. She was invaluable - we couldn't have done it without her. ”

Sarah, Co Founder of Bleat Post-Production:

“Holly & Planet A were introduced to us when we had made the decision to start the process of becoming B Corp Certified. Holly subsequently consulted for us through the Better Futures + Programme and made, what is, a very daunting process absolutely manageable. She is extremely knowledgeable about the B Corp process and sustainability.
The sessions we had were insightful, well produced and fun.”

The process and timeline

The time it takes for a company to submit its application will depend on its initial baseline score, usually, a period of improvement is required to reach 80+ points, this can take anywhere from 3-24 months, for an SME this often takes around 6-18 months. In our experience certifying as a B Corporation usually brings up three main challenges: 1. Understanding the questions in the BIA and how to provide evidence 2. Keeping the momentum going to make continuous changes towards certification 3. Involving the team in the process to share the responsibility and effectively improve the impact of the business. Our own proven four-stage process towards certification has been designed to tackle all of these challenges.

3. Certification Stage

We prepare you for the submission progress and support you with any feedback from B Lab to ensure you exceed eighty points.

4. Bonus Stage

Certified, then what? We prepare you for certification, recertification and how to be an active member of the B Corp community.

2. Improvement Stage

We deliver an impact improvement plan and evidence folder and we meet regularly to ensure continuous improvements are made.

1. Validation Stage

We learn about your company and start the B Corp assessment together to validate your baseline score and your readiness to start stage two.

To ensure we can support businesses of all sizes to certify as a B Corporation, we offer transparent pricing packages based on the number of employees, this includes full-time and part-time employees. We understand that the B Impact Assessment brings up a range of questions and challenges so we also offer B Corp Power Sessions. Our power sessions are tailored to your needs and are designed to help your business progress towards B Corp Certification. The session could include an introduction to the BIA and help to map out your businesses B Corp journey or advice on a specific category or area of the assessment.

“We worked with Holly as a consultant to help us with our BCorp assessment and application. Being someone who is very prominent in sustainability across the advertising and production sector we felt she was perfectly placed to hold our hands through the process. Her working practise is very thorough, she was really easy to get on with and we quickly developed an efficient and productive working process. Her in-depth knowledge and passion for purpose-led businesses was invaluable, and alongside an appreciation of the challenges that businesses of our size face, she was a perfect fit. I would highly recommend her to anybody else wanting to pursue this journey.”
